Introduction

Marc Riboud, with his outstanding photographs witnessing our times, is one of the most representative photojournalists and artists of today. Living in an age where terrorism and natural disasters frequently occur all over the world, where the boundary between fantasy and reality is fading away rapidly, his works, while reflecting his respect for human nature and his way of looking at people with humanistic eyes, seem ton question the way we live today.
“Photographs must be taken without an exchange of glances between the photographer and the subject. Without giving, without returning anything, I just shoot.”, said Marc. Nevertheless, we can receive so many messages from his photographs.
Marc Riboud’s works convey his joy of seeing, as well as his deep sorrow for today’s world.
